I'm not a romance novel reader, but after getting sucked into the hype, I decided to pick these up. I've been reading them aloud to my wife, and we find it an interesting story, though not as steamy as most reviewers have stated. I personally find them amateurish as though written by a high schooler. Poorly written, poorly edited. Overuse of certain words and phrases make these difficult and frustrating to read. Those who have read them know what I'm talking about. I can almost hear the disgruntled "murmurs". Does the author not own a thesaurus? Tentatively, I write this review, but only give it 2 stars. First star awarded for a decent story, and the second only because my wife has blown me twice since we started reading them. I guess they're not totally without merit. They are over-hyped, though imaginative, and slightly risque, (we both wish the sex scenes were more graphic and I wouldn't have bought them had they not been on sale. We're currently making our way through the second novel, and I hope it's not as repetitive as the first. OVERVIEW - Interesting read, though slightly predictable and too repetitive. If I wasn't reading them to my wife, I wouldn't be reading them at all.

I heard a lot of great things about this book so i decided to buy it. beginning is a little slow but it picks up quickly. I was impressed; i even grabbed the next two books in the series. I'm half way through the second book and i'm loving it :)

Book one is by far the best of the three. It had a very positive effect on my marriage while I was reading it. You just can't understand what an effect this (book 1) book has on you until you read it. I heard all the hype before I read it and was like, "yeah right" (as I rolled my eyes). But after reading book one, I can tell you the hype was well deserved.

I love these books! book 1 is the hottest of the three. Very addictive read this in one day while working an 9 hour shift :-)

Unless you do not have a single sense of feeling, desire, wanting or curiosity in your body, this book will bring all of these alive! If you are giving this book as a gift, it will be a gift for yourself as well. As I was reading this, I had to interrupt my reading every so often to satisfy the need it created for some sexual satisfaction. 50 Shades of Grey may not be a literary Pulitzer for its writing but if the prize was for its 'affect' on the reader, it is number one.
While reading this book, it stirred many things in me and one was my curiosity to try something new that may have been 'off-limits' before. Thank you for your great selection of toys that I can 'experiment' with! And thanks to the book, I now know what some of these are used for. :0)
I highly recommend this book and your toys as a full package gift...or for yourself. Indulge in both!!!
